Pacquiao vs. Clottey: Jim Lampley goes BANG BANG!

If you didn’t see the Manny Pacquiao-Joshua Clottey fight, trust me, you didn’t miss anything good. Just to give you an idea of the 12 round affair, here is Jim Lampley’s blow-by-blow coverage in the 8th round.

BANG-BANG-BANG

If you’re scoring at home that’s 16 bangs in a little under 25 seconds.

Now, to Lampley’s credit, the fight was exceedingly boring. What you saw in the video was what Pacquiao did for the entire fight while Clottey stood there and just tried to block. Mounting a counter-offensive didn’t seem in his best interests, although, I’m sure he’s certainly happy with the paycheck.

The commentators including chatty Max Kellerman were at a loss for words for parts of the fight which I think ultimately led to this Lampley meltdown. It’s definitely a moment he’d rather forget, but thanks to the internet may be his calling card for years to come.
