Let me try to get the Mike Vick time line correct here.
From NFL Quarterback, to dog abuser, to gambling financier, to convicted felon, back to QB and now to Playgirl model? That’s one hell of a ride.
The embattled American footballer, who was arrested for animal abuse and promoting dogfighting in 2007, has been invited to pose for Playgirl in return for a $1 million (£625,000) donation to animal rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.
A spokesman for Playgirl confirms to Life & Style magazine, “I sent the request to Michael Vick on Wednesday, but we haven’t heard back yet.
How PETA somehow clawed their way into this is beyond me. They either are the most annoying animal advocate group out there or the most effective. Sadly, part of me thinks its a combination of both.
As for Vick, I hope he agrees to pose for Playgirl. Not because anyone is interested in him pulling a professional version of the “Greg Oden”; sorry for the mental image. No, I hope he agrees to pose so he can sport a brand new fur coat and give PETA the ultimate middle finger.
