This isn’t really sports related but we’d feel remiss if we didn’t mention that furry little rodent in Pennsylvania today. Punxsutawney Phil did not see his shadow and apparently some other furry fella named Staten Island Chuck agreed. The two agreed that Spring would come early this year at about 7:15 this morning. Given the blizzard that is ripping across the country right now, I think we can all agree that their full of shit.

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady edged out Eagles quarterback Michael Vick for AP offensive player of the year award. A 50-member panel votes for the award and Brady received 21, while Vick received 11. Brady’s final numbers on the year were incredible. He had 37 touchdowns to only 4 interceptions.

Despite losing almost 32% of his regular endorsement revenue from the year before, Tiger Woods was still able to make $103,000,000 last year. Enough to buy some pancakes at his local Perkins.

The Mets are in such financial trouble that their willing to give up 25% ownership in the team before the end of June. The person to blame for this mess? None other than that ponzi schemer Bernie Madoff. “When the whole Bernie Madoff scandal first came to light, the New York Mets said that it would have no effect on the team’s finances even though team owners Fred Wilpon and Saul Katz were long-time investors with Madoff.”
