When you’re a South Bend radio host, it’s your job to drum up support from the Irish masses. With barely any other news or sports in town, Touchdown Jesus casts a heavenly shadow over your station. So being a homer is part of the gig, everyone understands that. Being a moron on the other hand, well, I’m not so sure that fits the bill of a Notre Dame man.

Enter in Mike Patrick of 95.3 in South Bend.

In a rather lame attempt at being funny, Patrick delivered a message to MSU coach Mark Dantonio on YouTube. That message….”You cheat the Irish, God is going to get you”.

I gotta tell ya, these local radio hosts got this stuff down to a science. Lose on Saturday, piss off an entire fanbase on Monday, phones flooded for 3-4 days, rinse and repeat.

Unfortunately, that scenario has to be getting a little stale for these guys–17-23 over their last 3+ seasons. That’s gonna force guys like good ‘ol Mike Patrick to be a little more creative next time with his insults. You can only use the “our God is a vengeful God” line so many times. Sooner or later, people are just going to start to turn the other cheek.
