Referee Joe DeRosa makes triumphant return to officiating

You remember NBA referee Joe DeRosa right? He was the official who threw a ball at a Orlando fan who was heckling him during a playoff game last year.

DeRosa was suspended one game for the incident and subsequently retired at the end of last season. Yesterday though, DeRosa made his triumphant return to Orlando as an official. No, he wasn’t reffing an NBA game or even a high profile college one for that matter. He was working the Central Florida/Jackson State game. A far cry from the fantastic action of NBA playoff basketball.

Moral of the story? When you have a high-paying job that you don’t necessarily have to be good at (Bennett Salvatore), it’s best to keep your anger in check.
