Reggie Bush to Dolphins, Albert Haynesworth to Patriots

Reggie Bush’s tenure in New Orleans appears to be over as Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer is reporting that the Dolphins have conditionally acquired him. If Bush is willing to take a pay cut (he was due for $11.8 million), then the deal will likely be made in the next few hours.

The drafting of Heisman winner Mark Ingram signaled that the Saints were more than likely going in another direction and would not require the services of the oft-injured Bush. His tweet on draft night, “it’s been fun New Orleans”, which was quickly taken down, showed Bush was not exactly thrilled with the decision management had made.

In other free agency news, Redskins malcontent Albert Haynesworth looks to be headed to the Patriots for a 2013 fifth-round draft pick. Just two years ago, Haynesworth signed a deal guaranteeing him $41 million dollars. However, things went south in a hurry last year when he feuded with coach Mike Shanahan and was subsequently suspended for the last four games of the season.

Is it possible that Bill Belichick can keep him in line? Perhaps. It’s also possible, however, that Haynesworth will pull more stunts like this.
