Ronaldo wore diapers during ’99 Copa America
Last week, Brazilian soccer star Ronaldo announced his retirement from the game. One of the reasons he gave for stepping away was his inability to keep in shape and his constant struggles with weight. So now it only makes sense that stories about his problems have come to light, specifically in the shape of adult diapers.
According to Vanderlei Luxemburgo, who managed Ronaldo on both the Brazilian National Team and Real Madrid, the legendary striker wore adult diapers during the 1999 Copa America tournament as a result of incontinence.
It appears the diet pills the “Phenomenon” was taking at the time to control his burgeoning weight problems had some really, really unpleasant side effects.
“The [team] doctor gave him medicine, Xenical, which was effective, but it also accelerated his bowel movements. So, in order to avoid any “incidents,” the player had to wear diapers, which embarrassed him.”
Ok, well, there seems to be a missing piece to this puzzle. Did Ronaldo ever have an accident during a game? Come on, inquiring minds want to know about Ronaldo’s feces. I’ll be on the edge of a toilet seat the rest of the day hoping for an update. In the meantime, “Oops I crapped my pants” will have to do provide me the needed entertainment.
