Soccer player gets red card for tackling streaker

Time and time again we’ve seen referees try to inject themselves into the game, perhaps even thinking they are the center of attention. In college basketball, there’s good ‘ol Ed Hightower, in the NFL, there’s Ed Hochuli and his massive pipes, and in soccer, there’s this no-named douchebag who red-carded someone for tackling a streaker.

The player, Ashley Vickers, was obviously distraught about the ejection and his teammates, well, they weren’t too happy either.

Unfortunately for him, the official was what polite fans would call a ‘whistle-happy jobsworth’ (salt-of-the-earth supporters may have their own terms we cannot repeat on a family website).
After the stewards had finished thanking Vickers for his help, the ref pulled out a red card and sent him off.
Unsurprisingly, the Dorchester players went crazy. After conceding twice in the closing stages to go 3-1 down, their heads went completely and two more players saw red before the final whistle.

I’m not entirely sure what a “jobsworth” is but I’m pretty sure it’s close in definition to asshole.
