Bears receiver Sam Hurd arrested on federal drug charges

Chicago Bears wide receiver Sam Hurd was arrested on Wednesday after trying to purchase drugs from an undercover Homeland Security agent. The details of the arrest are shocking and make you wonder if Hurd wanted to, or was already involved in some kind of Chicago drug ring.
Sean Jensen of the Sun-Times has some of the specifics:
-Wanted to purchase 5 to 10 kilos of cocaine and 1000 pounds of marijuana a week
-Told agent that he was already distributing 4 kilos in Chicago area
-From July 2011 thru Wednesday, Hurd has 21 violations of attempting to or purchasing drugs
It appears Sam Hurd is channeling his inner Gus Fring. Truly stunned at the totality of this and why, a player, who had just signed a lucrative $5.1 million dollar contract, went this route.
