Sayonara Ichiro Suzuki, sayonara!
A. Isaac Ichiro Suzuki asked the Mariners for a trade weeks ago and on Monday they obliged, sending him to the Yankees in exchange for some pitching prospects. New York happened to be in town for a three-game series so Ichiro’s impact was felt right away.
As he stepped to the plate for his first at-bat, Mariners fan treated him to a standing ovation. Then, in typical Ichiro fashion, he whistled a single up the middle.
And just like that, Ichiro became the most hated man in Washington. Sayonara good sir, sayonara!
