“Sit down Focker!”: Ben Stiller interrupts U.S. Open final

A. Isaac Senior Editor

After a week of rain delays and players complaining about court conditions, the U.S. Open finally came to a conclusion Monday night with the men’s final. And what a final it was. What originally appeared to be a straight sets victory for Novak Djokovic quickly evolved into one of the best matches of the year. Rafael Nadal came back from a break down to win the third set in a tiebreak but eventually ran out of gas in the end giving Djokovic his first U.S. Open title.

The New York crowd, as usual, was boisterous and perhaps even a bit too raucous at times. At one point, both Djokovic and Nadal complained about the glare from one of the many suites at Arthur Ashe stadium. Chair umpire Carlos Ramos was forced to make an announcement to urge people to stop shuffling back and forth from the glass doors.

As the cameras panned to the suite in question, a familiar face appeared on TV. That, of one Gaylord Focker.

At first, we were unsure if it was really him, but later CBS cutaway to him and good pal Owen Wilson in the crowd. So yea, Stiller was responsible for interrupting the U.S. Open final. Sit down next time Focker!

Anyways, here’s some more screencaps we took of yesterday’s final including super WAG’s Jelena Ristic and Maria Francisca Perello.

What'd you think of this?
