Soccer player splits his scrotum during game
There’s still a few days left in 2011, but this story of a horrific injury during an English soccer game is arguably the worst of the year.
Gillingham midfielder, Chris Whelpdale suffered a split scrotum during League 2 action against Crawley yesterday. The injury, apparently, occurred during a “challenge” of some kind. Speaking of challenges, his coach, Andy Hessenthaler, believes he’ll have some in the bedroom in the coming weeks.
“It’s a horrific injury,” boss Andy Hessenthaler told BBC Radio Kent.
“It’s absolutely disgusting. He’s going to be very sore, and I’m sure his wife won’t be too happy either.”
Yea, happy holidays to you to coach. And no, we don’t have video. Despite my curiosity about the injury itself, the sheer pain involved with something like this is far too much to handle.
