Just a few years back, the Detroit Tigers were in the World Series and favored to beat the St. Louis Cardinals. Two of the biggest reasons why were fireballer Joel Zumaya and centerfielder Curtis Granderson.
Fast forward 3 years…
Zumaya is barely a functional reliever and Granderson just got dealt to the Yankees in a three-team trade. Epic collapse and horrible mismanagement by Tigers GM Dave Dombrowski have led to the team missing out on the playoffs three years in a row.
Curtis Granderson was a fan favorite here in Detroit and a staple in the community. He will be missed by many but mostly, he’ll be missed when Tigers season ticket sales take a huge plummet.
Well done Dave, well done!
