I’m not sure how we missed this absolutely riveting story of Nebraska cheerleaders bathing themselves in ice cold water but thankfully our friends at Busted Coverage were right on top of it.
The “Polar Plunge” taken at Lincoln Homes Lake in Lincoln, Nebraska raised almost 70,000 for Special Olympics.
About 350 people jumped in the 33-degree lake on Saturday. The air temperature at the time was 29 degrees.
Firefighters cut 20-inch thick blocks of ice from the lake to make room for the plungers, many of whom wore costumes.
If those are costumes the Nebraska cheerleaders are wearing, well then, I can’t wait for Halloween.
