A. Isaac Holders and long snappers are often overlooked on football rosters. But their job, especially at the end of games, is of the utmost importance. During the Outback Bowl, Michigan State holder Brad Sonntag saved the Spartans from disaster several times after wayward snaps. Stanford holder Daniel Zychlinski was not as lucky.
In overtime, after the Cardinals failed to punch it in, kicker Jordan Williamson set up for a 43-yard field goal. Zychlinski went all Dan Marino with the good ol’ laces in technique. Somewhere, Ray Finkle sheds a tear.
