smith Stephen A Smith hates Freedom of Speech

“Someone with no training should not be allowed to have any kind of format whatsoever to disseminate to the masses to the level which they can. They are not trained. Not experts.”

~Stephen A. Smith

It seems a lot of journalists have their panties in a bunch because people read blogs. Nevermind the fact that the decision lies with the reader, that apparently does not matter.

Smith is not the first journalist to air his complaints. Not too long ago, Chris McCosky of the Detroit News complained about sports blogs.

Are Smith and McCosky really that stupid?

In fact, stupid is probably too nice of a word; moronic is more like it.

If people enjoy what you write about, they will read it. Its as simple as that. Instead of blaming bloggers for expressing themselves or their opinions, blame yourself for the lack of interest from your readers.

If you cant understand that, I suggest both of you move to China. They have state-controlled newspapers there and they control what you view on the internet.

Quite Frankly, Youll both fit right in.

“I’m the enemy because I like to think. I like to read. I’m into freedom of speech and freedom of choice. I’m the kind of guy that could sit in a greasy spoon and wonder, gee, should I have the T-bone steak or the jumbo rack of barbecue ribs or the side order of gravy fries? I want high cholesterol. I would eat bacon and butter and buckets of cheese. Okay? I want to smoke Cuban cigars the size of Cincinnati in the nonsmoking section. I want to run through the streets naked with green Jell-O all over my body reading Playboy magazine. Why? Because I might suddenly feel the need to. Okay, pal?”
