VIDEO: Sterling Sharpe produces an all-time gaffe on ‘NFL Total Access’
NFL Total Access offers viewers behind-the-scenes stories, highlights, and in-depth analysis from some of the network’s personalities. One of those personalities, former Packers wide receiver Sterling Sharpe, appeared on a segment with host Andrew Siciliano to talk Lions-Saints. Sharpe spoke glowingly about the Detroit offense led by Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson. But after that, things got weird.
It appears Sharpe had access to some kind of random NFL name generator, something the rest of us aren’t privy to. That, or he simply really enjoys first names that start with the letter ‘A’.
Watch as he confuses tight end Brandon Pettigrew with some guy named Antonio and invents a new receiver with the name Austin Pettis (presumably Titus Young).
How Andrew Siciliano remain composed in that segment is beyond me. The man is a pro’s pro.
