Not to say that violent crime isn’t a part of any major urban area but when it comes within the first 24 hours of the Olympic Games, that just can’t sit pretty with the organizers….

A knife-wielding Chinese man attacked two relatives of a coach for the U.S. Olympic men’s volleyball team at a tourist site in Beijing, killing one and injuring the other on the first day of the Olympics on Saturday, team officials and state media said.

Damn, first the smog and then the knife wielding man? What’s next, tanks rolling in on Tiananmen Square?
