The Detroit Pistons are up for sale

Karen davidson The Detroit Pistons are up for sale

After Pistons owner and NBA Hall of Famer Bill Davidson passed away last year, there were rumors that his family wasn’t interested in holding on to the team.

And now, former Pistons owner and friend of the Davidson family, Oscar Feldman says that’s a reality.

Oscar Feldman, a former minority owner of the Pistons, told Crain’s Detroit Business that Karen Davidson is making an attempt to sell the team.

“Karen is inquiring into selling the team, and her limited partners concur in that decision,”

As somebody who keeps up with the Pistons with regularity, I can tell you that Karen Davidson, the wife of the late Bill Davidson has never shown any interest in the team.

Just a few years back when they honored Bill during halftime of a Pistons game, Karen stood by and scowled the entire time. She was rarely seen during games sitting next to her husband and often times just chatted up with her friends when she did show up.

Sad that a franchise as great as the Detroit Pistons will now probably go to the highest bidder. Let’s just hope that the person who buys them is interested in keeping the team in the area. Otherwise, there will be a lot of angry fans here. And as you know, when people get angry in Detroit, there are riots, burning of cars and dilapidated buildings (cue any other Detroit stereotype you can think of).

What'd you think of this?
