kentucky recruit 303x214 The Kentucky recruit story at the Sun Times is heating up

A few days ago the Chicago Sun-Times ran an article about Kentucky star recruit Anthony Davis. In it, they alleged that Davis had received $200,000 to play for the Wildcats. Not long after the article went up, that tidbit of information was omitted but not before several astute bloggers took a screen shot of the page.

Though the Sun-Times was highly ridiculed for running the story and even contacted by legal representation of both the University and Davis’ family, they stood firm in their story. And today, they have come out “guns blazin”.

Sources from three separate universities told the Sun-Times that Davis Sr. asked for money in return for his son’s commitment, with the amounts ranging from $125,000 to $150,000.

If anything, the Sun-Times deserves credit. They didn’t run the story with a single source or rumor. They ran the story with three separate universities telling them what Davis and his family were allegedly doing.

This one’s going to get ugly.
