Regular season predictions for the Miami Heat ranged from 70+ wins to the greatest team ever to grace a basketball court. With future Hall of Famer’s LeBron James and Dwyane Wade, the sky was literally the limit.
But the sky came crashing down, albeit, for just one night against the Celtics. The Heat were barely competitive in the first half trailing by as much as 19 points. Their nine points in the 1st quarter were the fewest they had scored since March 15, 2009. The dreadful shooting wasn’t a result of newcomer LeBron James but rather team captain Dwyane Wade who was 4-16 from the field.
Wade offered the fans this nugget of knowledge after the game:
“This is one of 82, sorry if everyone thought we were going to go 82-0. It just ain’t happening”
Well, at least he’s realistic.
Speaking of realism, who knew Shaq could still run a fast break. Get out of that man’s way
