The Pittsburgh Steelers are falling apart

A. Isaac Senior Editor

This hasn’t exactly been the most stellar off-season for the Pittsburgh Steelers. At this point, they’re more or less resembling their division rival Cincinnati Bengals with the number of legal problems. First, it was Ben Roethlisberger and the sexual assault case in Georgia and now, Santanio Holmes is throwing his hat into the assault ring. A Florida woman is suing Holmes for breaking a glass over her face.

Anshonoe Mills claims in the lawsuit that Holmes grabbed her face and threw a glass at her when he objected to her sitting on a couch in the Rain Night Club’s VIP section on March 7. Mills says the glass hit her and cut her near the eye.

The lawsuit also claims Holmes and a police officer intimidated Mills so she wouldn’t press charges.

While the alleged assault is awful in itself, the fact that a police officer may have been pressuring the woman to not press charges is quite disturbing. Eerily similar to the buddy-buddy routine Big Ben had with those cops in Milledgeville, Ga.

Nothing may come of these charges, but at this point, it may not matter. The Steelers image as a whole is already tarnished. That is, until they win another Super Bowl and everybody forgets this mess entirely.

What'd you think of this?
