The Shin-Soo Choo DUI arrest video you’ve been waiting for
Cleveland Indians outfielder Shin Soo Choo had a wild drunken night of debauchery on May 1st. Choo was pulled over by Cleveland area police after he swerved several times and crossed the yellow lines on the road. When it was all said and done, Choo had blown .201, or what I like to refer to as, “how the hell did you get the keys in the ignition” drunk. The entire video has been released to the public and is here for your viewing pleasure.
We’ve forwarded it to the point where Choo has to complete sobriety tests. Needless to say, he does an extremely poor job.
Allow me to step onto my soapbox for a moment. Choo stopped initially to ask for directions and drove off. The cop allowed him back on the road to continue on before pulling him over just a few minutes later and arresting him.
A cops job, first and foremost is to serve and protect. What happens if Choo decides to gun it after the initial stop, swerves into oncoming traffic and kills someone? How would the officer handle the guilt then? Instead of trying to catch somebody in the midst of a crime, maybe he would have been better served to avoid the whole thing altogether and arrest him the first time around.
