I am done with blaming the players, I am done saying that the team doesn’t play “Izzo ball”. Its high time we put the blame squarely on the shoulders of Coach Izzo.

He is becoming stubborn. A system worked for him 8 years ago and he has stuck to it. He has not adapted to better coaching in the Big Ten, he has not adapted to teams knowing our half court sets. We have athletes but we refuse to force tempo and turnovers.

I’d never go as far to say that Izzo is on the hot seat. I have a lot of respect for the man and the integrity he brings to MSU. But a deep run in the tournament is important for the livelihood of the program. You can only have so many years of average basketball before you are not considered one of the best anymore.

Stop getting your panties in a bunch over people calling you by your whole name. For those that don’t know, his middle name is Hussein and he was referred to by his entire name before a speech by John McCain. Whether or not there was a “subliminal message” is not important. If you don’t want people to refer to you that way or you feel that your name has a negative connotation, then change it. Otherwise, you should be more concerned with having actual substance in your campaign. Being a good orator will only take you so far.

Egyptian Family that starved a kid

I posted the story yesterday. A family in Egypt took a high school kid in as part of their Student Exchange program. Even if you believe that they made the kid fast in accordance with their Coptic Christian beliefs, it still doesn’t excuse the overall neglect of someone’s health. Losing 60 lbs might be ok if you weighed 250 or 300 lbs but once you drop into the 90 lb range, something is up. Its a shame that the dad had the audacity to say that he was eating for 6 people. Unless he was bulimic I highly doubt that story.

Damn shame!
