thierryhenry Thierry Henrys hand goal puts France in World Cup

I’ll never claim to be a soccer expert but I’m pretty sure batting the ball to yourself with your hand is a no-no. So Thierry Henry, shame on you. In what he deemed an “accident”, Henry guided the ball with his hand before it went out of bounds. It led to France scoring a tying goal that sent them to the World Cup.

The goal is being called the “The Hand of Henry” in reference to Diego Maradona’s famous hand goal in the 1986 World Cup.

Ireland has since lodged a complaint and is demanding the game be replayed. If the FIFA governing body is anything like the NBA and/or SEC officiating, they will surely turn a blind eye.

Stay tuned, this one will get interesting.
