Tiger Woods shot an +18 over par at the Bridgestone Invitational (a tournament he has won 7 times) and finished in 78th place. It was easily the worst showing of his 14-year professional career.

The world’s No. 1 player looked utterly beaten, and he was. He finished 30 strokes behind champion Hunter Mahan, who shot a 6-under 64 to finish with a two-stroke victory over Ryan Palmer.
“Shooting 18-over par is not fun,” Woods said. “I don’t see how it can be fun shooting 18 over.”

To make matters worse for Woods, there are now only two tournaments remaining for him to get into the top 125 on the money list. Just think about that for a second. Tiger Woods is still the #1 player in the world by rankings and yet, he has performed so terribly this year that he isn’t even assured a spot to play golf a few weeks from now. And at the rate he’s going, he may not even want to be a captains pick for the Ryder Cup.

“I wouldn’t help the team if I’m playing like this,” Woods said. “No one would help the team if they’re shooting 18 over par.”

No confidence in his game, no wife, presumably no sex…For the first time in my life, I’m not sure I would trade places with the man.
