Tiger Woods opens with 77 at PGA Championship; Rory McIlroy hurts wrist
Tiger Woods shot an opening round 77 at the PGA championship today, his worst round ever at the tournament. Things appeared to be going well for Woods, when he birdied three of the first four holes and tied for the lead. But then his round went south in a hurry with two double bogeys on the front nine and followed it up with yet another one on the back. The score leaves Tiger not only out of contention for the tournament but in danger of missing the cut.

In other news, U.S. Open champion Rory McIlroy injured his wrist after trying to hit a shot off a tree root. The video below is compelling not only because of the violent nature of the swing but because of the unintentional comedy with the guy who thinks the golf club is about to hit him.
