Tiger Woods announced on his website today that he has parted ways with long-time caddie Steve Williams. The two have been together since 1999. With Woods on the mend, Williams has been caddying for Australian golfer Adam Scott. Though both said the move was temporary, it appears now that Woods, Williams want to go in a different direction.

“I want to express my deepest gratitude to Stevie for all his help, but I think it’s time for a change,” Woods said. “Stevie is an outstanding caddie and a friend and has been instrumental in many of my accomplishments. I wish him great success in the future.”

The fall from grace for Tiger continues to be just shocking. Since Thanksgiving 2009, he’s had a messy public divorce, lost countless endorsements, been repeatedly injured, and hasn’t won a tournament. And now his caddie has ditched him (presumably).

*Update*

Steve Williams released a statement saying he was shocked and disappointed. So yea, Tiger dumped him and not the other way around.

At this point, the only stable things for Woods are his agent Mark Steinberg and Nike. If there’s a break from either of those two, well, someone be sure to grab El Tigre’s shoelaces because he’ll be on suicide watch.
