Tim Tebow 135x95 Tim Tebow named starter in Denver

Tim Tebow has been named the starting quarterback in Denver according to Josina Anderson of ESPN. John Fox made the announcement to his team this morning.

The Broncos have struggled out of the gate this season at 1-4 and boast a mediocre, at best offense. Although Tebow’s numbers on Sunday suggest there will be a learning curve of some sort, his ability to run and scramble will, at the very least, add a wrinkle to an offense that is in desperate need of some energy.

As far as what this means for former starter Kyle Orton, well, who knows. During the summer, the Miami Dolphins were interested in his services but publicly said they weren’t willing to overpay. But now that Chad Henne is done for the season with a shoulder injury and with the signing of the venerable Sage Rosenfels, you have to think that Miami may reconsider.

That said, the two teams play Oct. 23rd and given the amount of information Orton has about the Broncos, it’s not likely they’ll be willing to part ways with him before then.

What'd you think of this?
