Two baseball players from Western High School in Fort Worth Texas were dismissed from the team for sacrificing chickens in an attempt to improve their play. From what we understand, neither player is related to Pedro Cerrano from Major League.

Fort Worth Independent School District spokesman Clint Bond said the incident happened during Spring Break. Bond did not know how many chickens allegedly were killed. He declined to say how the two students were punished.

Baseball coach Bobby McIntire said he has not had a chance to talk to the students about why they did it.

Judging from the team’s abysmal record, 7-15, it’s no surprise that somebody pulled a stunt like this. And it’s only a matter of time before “team PETA” begins to protest these kids high school games.

Personally, this whole story’s making me hungry. I’m thinking about getting a bucket of KFC for dinner.
