Michigan football is in desperate need of players
The Wolverines’ football win this past weekend apparently has not deterred the coaching staff from seeking solutions amongst the general student populace.
An article was posted this morning on the official UM athletic website asking for walk-ons to tryout before this Friday. With the Notre Dame game looming this Saturday, you may very well see a 150 pound engineering student in the defensive backfield.

Today’s help wanted ad may have been spurned by news of sophomore safety Vladimir Emilien announcing that he’s leaving the team. Combine that with the multitude of other defensive backs who have been lost during the Rich Rod era, and it’s no wonder they are looking for help.
Here’s a list of players who were projected to play secondary for the Maize and Blue this year.
Boubacar Cissoko-in jail, sentenced 15 months to 19 years for robbery
Donovan Warren-left early for the NFL, was not drafted
Troy Woolfolk-ankle injury, out for season
Demar Dorsey-highly touted recruit who was academically ineligible
Justin Turner-transfer
So yea, if you’re a UM student who happens to have even a modicum of athletic ability, head to Schembechler Hall sometime today. With any luck, you’ll have the winged helmet strapped on by dinner time.
