VIDEO: Australian Cop repeatedly punches cricket fan
A. Isaac During a cricket match between the Sydney Sixers and Perth Scorchers on Wednesday night, a few fans got rowdy. Because, you know, cricket brings out the worst in us. One of those fans was 39-year old Mona Vale who resisted removal when security calmly asked him to leave.
So, naturally, the big guns were called in and one of them wielded a pretty hefty stick. Watch as this police officer repeatedly punches Vale while he’s pinned down by others.
An internal investigation is taking place and according to 7News, some are defending the officer’s actions.
Senior police have responded by launching an internal investigation into the incident, but have defended the officers involved.
Speaking to 7News about the video NSW Police Assistant Commissioner Mark Murdoch says police took the appropriate action to remove the man, but admitted the video footage “doesn’t look great”.
“Doesn’t look great” eh? Hell of an understatement sir.
