VIDEO: Bench clearing brawl in high school game

Last month, Briarcrest Christian and the Houston High baseball team were hit with two-year postseason suspensions for a bench clearing brawl. From what we know, no video of the event surfaced on the local news or YouTube—until yesterday.
The incident started when a player tried to barrel over the catcher at home plate. The catcher took exception and used his feet to fend off the would-be runner–and then all hell broke loose. Considering some of the wimpy ones we normally see in Major League Baseball, this one is quite impressive.
You really have to feel bad for the kid whose mom comes on the field at 1:25. There’s nothing quite like your mom coming to your rescue after you get in a fight. She’s promptly booted off the field by a man in a cowboy hat.
