Fayetteville State may not have drawn up the play this way, but it worked nonetheless. Watch as forward John Herrington absolutely levels a player on a pick, receives the inbounds pass, and drops in a 55-foot bomb for the win over Elizabeth City State.

Of note, Herrington had not attempted a three-point shot in his entire career at Fayetteville State. This one couldn’t have come at a better time.
“When the shot went in, I really didn’t know how to act,” Herrington said. “My heart stopped. I couldn’t believe. That was my first 3 ever. I couldn’t believe the shot went in. That was the biggest shot of my career.”
The man’s a bit elated and really, how can you blame him.
As for the anonymous player he knocked out, well, let’s just hope his teammates learn to call out picks in the future.
