VIDEO: Fight in stands at the U.S. Open

If I told you a fight broke out last night at a sporting event, you’d almost surely guess it occurred at a football game. The start of the college season combined with a few inebriated young fans is the perfect recipe for a melee in the stands.

But no, the fight didn’t occur at any of the numerous college football games around the country. No, this fight comes to you courtesy of the U.S. Open. And to make matters worse (or better depending on your perspective), it involved a foul-mouthed 20-something and a grandpa/grandma combo. How’s that for a threesome. The scene became so intense that the Djokovic/Petzschner match was stopped until security could resolve the situation.

“I guess they’re right, old people, though slow and dangerous behind the wheel, they still serve a purpose. Don’t you go dyin’ on me!”

The best part about this fight were the number of heroes that came to the old woman’s help. A true damsel in distress.

As for the old man who instigated the entire ordeal, he appears a bit shaken up after the tumble into the seats below him. But in the end, good for him for protecting his ol’ lady.

And yes, according to an email we received, the young man was taken away in cuffs. Stop beating on the elderly a-hole.
