VIDEO: Green Men antics highlight Canucks Game 7 OT thriller
The Vancouver Canucks avoided one of the biggest collapses in playoff history last night with an overtime goal from Alex Burrows to defeat the Chicago Blackhawks 2-1. The Canucks managed to blow a three game lead in the series and a one goal lead late in Game 7. Despite many opportunities to extend the lead during the game, including a penalty shot and a late third period power play, the Cancucks were unable to pull away. That’s when Jonathan Toews scored his first goal shorthanded with 1:56 left to force overtime.
Luckily for Vancouver, Roberto Luongo stood tall early in the extra frame shutting down the Blackhawks during a power play. And when Alex Burrows forced a turnover in Chicago’s zone, his slap shot found the back of the net for the improbable victory.
The OT goal was certainly the highlight of the game for Canucks fans but for neutral observers, the antics of the infamous Green Men during a Chicago penalty late in the 3rd period will be remembered forever.
Unfortunately the camera angle above is not nearly as good as this one from Versus. In what appears to be a clip from the Ambiguously Gay Duo, the Green Men 69 each other right in Duncan Keith’s face. The video is piss poor quality but you get the jist of what’s going on.
