VIDEO: Jered Weaver loses his cool after Carlos Guillen shows him up
The Justin Verlander-Jered Weaver match-up was as good as expected. Well, that is, until the 7th inning when a Carlos Guillen home run and strut to first base caused Weaver to lose his cool and subsequently get ejected.
Here’s video of the incident.
Weaver had been jawing with the Tigers all day after he felt disrespected on a Magglio Ordonez home run earlier in the game. Several f-bombs were exchanged with Miguel Cabrera in the inning prior which directly led to Guillen showboating after his dinger.
Oh yea, and while this was going on, Justin Verlander had a no-hitter going. But the long wait after the Weaver ejection seemed to throw him off a little and multiple errors led to a run scored before he finally surrendered a hit with two outs in the 8th.
It’s a rarity that games live up to the hype but in this case, both Verlander and Weaver were entertaining, albeit in two entirely different ways.
