VIDEO: LaMichael James’ gruesome arm injury
Oregon running back LaMichael James had a spectacular game going Thursday night–30 CAR, 239 YDS, 1 TD. At the beginning of the fourth quarter, the Ducks were ready to pounce again as they moved the ball down the field and were inside the five.
And that’s when it happened.
James dislocated his elbow in one of the more gruesome injuries you’ll ever see. Not for the faint of heart.
Although the injury looked catastrophic, James had a smile on his face after the game. It appears the injury, despite looking gruesome, is not season ending.
“It’s not a season-ending injury and I’ll be fine,” he said. “I’m tough. I’m a warrior and I’m never going to quit on my team.”
James said that X-rays showed the arm was not broken. But he would not speculate on whether he’ll play next Saturday against No. 22 Arizona State.
“We’re gonna wait and see,” he said. “We have the best trainers in the country and I’m sure they are going to get on it ASAP and I’ll be there four times
For the sake of college football, I hope the guy gets out there. The last two weeks he averaged a mind-boggling 14 yards a carry and although the Heisman is probably out of his reach this year, he still has a chance to go down as one of the better running backs the college game has seen in quite some time.
