Despite repeated cries from Michigan fans that Denard Robinson was the best player in America, it was backup quarterback Devin Gardner who looked the more impressive of the two Saturday.

That being said, Gardner, in his exuberant youth, provided two comical moments at crucial times in the Wolverines last drive.

The first being an illegal forward pass after running three yards beyond the line of scrimmage and this play which fittingly received the “Yakety Sax” treatment.

By my count, Gardner ran 9 yards past the line of scrimmage, then went about 17 in the other direction before finally being tackled. All the while, it appeared Gardner was looking downfield to pass during the scramble.

You just can’t script that kind of stuff folks.

And yes, on a totally unrelated note, the Spartans delivered yet another beatdown of their rivals for the fourth year in a row. But I’m not gloating or anything–just simply stating facts.

What'd you think of this?
