VIDEO: Phil Mickelson says, “it’s long and it’s hard”
Phil Mickelson shot a 71 yesterday at the PGA Championship leaving himself 8 shots off the lead. Not exactly how he wanted to get started, but still in contention should he go low today. It’s a far better round than his old rival, Tiger Woods, put together.
And although Steve Stricker was able to tie a major record with a 63, the 7400 yard course proved difficult for most of the field. Ryo Ishikawa, who many thought would contend this week, had the worst round of his professional career with an 85.
When asked in an interview afterwards how tough the 7400 yard course was playing, Mickelson offered up this double entendre….”it’s long and it’s hard”. Yes, Michael Scott, “that’s what she said”.
