VIDEO: Reporter Christine Insinga of News 12 gets unexpected shower on hot day
It’s been a miserably hot week across most of the United States where temperatures soared into the triple digits. On Friday, in New York City, it was 104 degrees and the heat index made it feel like it was 113. Needless to say, the oppressive heat forced many of us inside under the comfort of our air conditioners.
But that was not the case for 26-year-old Aimee Rachlin of Huntington, New York who decided it was a beautiful day for shopping as she strapped her 13-month old child into the car and headed to the local KMart. When she got there, she cracked the windows open a bit, presumably to let some air in (how thoughtful), and left her child in the oven that was her car.
Naturally, bystanders were appalled when they saw a baby literally roasting inside and called the police. Upon returning, Rachlin was arrested and charged with leaving her child in an unattended car. News 12 Christine Insinga went to the house to confront the mother about the incident and was treated rather rudely with this unexpected shower.
Perhaps grandma was just doing Insinga a favor and wanted to cool her off. Perhaps grandma wanted to see Insigna in a wet t-shirt contest. We’ll never know. Either way, though the story itself is a bit morbid, it’s quite entertaining to see a news reporter treated with such blatant disrespect.
