VIDEO: Soccer fan storms field…in wheelchair
Soccer fans storming the field isn’t something new. Earlier this week, we told you about a game between two South American club teams that resulted in fans and players engaging in a huge on field brawl after the game. Countless other times we’ve seen hooligans run onto the pitch wearing nothing at all, with only their manhood to hide their shame.
But a fan storming a field in a wheelchair? Well, we can’t say we’ve seen that one before. Here’s video of 18-year old Derry Felton, a Northampton supporter, “zooming” his way onto the field.
When asked after the game about the incident, Felton had this to say:
“I said to my mate ‘If they score I will go on the pitch’.
“But I didn’t believe that they would. Then they did and it was a bit of a blur really.
“I didn’t know what was happening and then I was in the middle of the pitch and I just thought how did I get here?
“It was just a spur of the moment thing and I never thought it would end up on You Tube or make me famous or anything.
“I don’t know if I would ever do it again, because it just sort of happened.
“I have been going to see the Cobblers since I was 12 when someone gave me a free ticket and I just got really into them from there.”
Thankfully, for Felton, the team has decided not to prosecute him. How thoughtful of them.
