VIDEO: Soccer player gets spit on as he takes corner kick
A. Isaac Boca Juniors midfielder Juan Roman Riquelme got more than he bargained for when he went to take a corner kick this past weekend. Watch as fans of Olimpo de Bahía Blanca take turns hawking loogies on him.
Thankfully, Riquelme shook off the incident and even told reporters after the game that the boorish behavior is commonplace now.
“People are used to doing this in our country and nothing surprises [you],” the creative midfielder said.
Well, that’s kind of disturbing. Note to self, goggles and ski masks for my next Argentine soccer escapade.
