VIDEO: The ultimate Little League Baseball FAIL

If you’ve ever been to a Little League game, you know you’re bound to chuckle at least once or twice at some of the plays kids make. A grounder between the wickets, an ill-advised headfirst dive, or maybe even a pop-up right off your noggin–no really, that’s exactly what this little fella did. Somehow he timed up his chase to first right in line with the ball cranking off his helmet.

Well done.

It should be noted that while the umpire calls this ball a foul, the runner was actually inside the baseline and thus, because it was a fair ball, he should be called out.

A runner (including the batter-runner) is out if hit by a fair batted ball or, after hitting or bunting a foul ball, he intentionally deflects the course of the ball in any manner while running to first base.

I’m guessing the ump was showing some compassion however and didn’t want to stick to the letter of the law. Wise choice blue. Bad enough the kid is going to get ridiculed for the rest of the season because of the mishap.

What'd you think of this?
