VIDEO: Tom Izzo stays with MSU; gets into heated argument with Detroit News journalist

In the end, Tom Izzo just couldn’t leave MSU. The enticement was certainly there. Not often does a NBA job come along with a once in a generation type player in Lebron James. But even that didn’t seem enough to persuade Izzo.

The official announcement was made by MSU in a press release and subsequent press conference that was carried by a number of networks. Both MSU president Lou Anna Simon and Athletic Director Mark Hollis spoke before Izzo was introduced. But the fireworks started when Detroit News journalist Lynn Henning decided he would take the opportunity to somewhat scold the entire MSU administration.

Henning, who has been a Detroit News journalist for some time recently wrote a scathing piece of Tom Izzo on Monday entitled: It’s too late for Tom Izzo to return to MSU.

To his credit, Izzo handled the situation as well as he could but the tension was palpable. Here is the entire exchange below
