VIDEO: U.S. robbed of goal; tie Slovenia 2-2
This should have been the greatest comeback in U.S. soccer history and maybe the greatest comeback in World Cup play if not for referee Koman Coulibaly. In the 85th minute Landon Donovan placed a free kick perfectly in the box to Maurice Edu for a goal. But Coulibaly quickly whisted an offsides/foul on the play.

You can clearly see that if any call is to be made, it’s a foul on Slovenia for an obvious hold on Michael Bradley. The U.S. players after the match said that no explanation was given on the call.
Needless to say, they’ll be much speculation in the next few days about Coulibaly’s future in this World Cup. Aside from that, the tie gives the U.S. hope of advancing to the next round. But they will surely need to win their next game and hope England has a misstep or two.
