It has not been a good stretch for baseball umpires lately. Yesterday, Yadier Molina went Daffy Duck on umpire Rob Drake and earlier this week, minor-league manager Stubby Clapp had an epic meltdown over a hit-by-pitch call.

And now, even our friendly neighbors to the north are getting in on the action. On Monday night, Winnipeg Goldeyes manager Rick Forney got into it with an umpire after a close call at first base. After being ejected, Forney, in a rather awesome display of thievery, went to the base, picked it up, and retreated back into the locker room.

Unfortunately for Forney, the display of anger did not spark his team to victory. They lost 12-4 after giving up six runs in the 9th inning and also lost the next night 13-11. In fact, Forney’s frustration could be directly related to his team poor performance as of late, having lost 8 of their last 10.
