Molina and Laird 309x191 Yadier Molina allegedly gets into fight with teammate Gerald Laird

Earlier this week, Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina got into it a heated argument with umpire Rob Drake over a called third strike. The argument led to a five game suspension as Molina repeatedly made contact and possibly spit on Drake.

Given the ugly incident, you’d think Molina would want to lay low for awhile. Perhaps keep his temper in check. But today, there are reports surfacing of Molina getting into with teammate Gerald Laird. The backup catcher allegedly called Molina a cheater, although, there seems to be no context for the name-calling. Some outlets are characterizing the argument as a simple disagreement while others are saying it was a full-fledged fight.

Team officials, in an attempt to settle down the rumors, have said the two made amends and “it’s water under the bridge”. Given Molina’s propensity to hawk a loogie, I’d characterize it more as “backwash under the bridge”.

What'd you think of this?
