Yet another dumb tennis stunt
We’ve seen the half clay-half grass court, we’ve seen matches on that hotel roof in Dubai , and now…..
Well now, we have the dumbest one of them all.
A match on a high speeding train.
Billed as the “fastest tennis in the world,” seventh-ranked Tsonga of France took on ninth-ranked Spaniard Verdasco on a mini-tennis court laid down in one of Shanghai’s high-speed Maglev trains on Tuesday as it reached a cruising speed of 431 kph (268 mph) during the seven-minutes and 20-seconds it took to make the 30-kilometer (18.6-mile) trip from Longyard Rail Road station in Pudong to Pudong International Airport.
You know, tennis needs to go in one of two directions. Either be legitimate and stop with these so-called stunts or really start pulling out some good ones.
Something like two chicks playing tennis on a trampoline. Actually, that’s a fantastic idea. Who do I talk to about that? I’d love to resurrect Simona Halep’s career. That is, as long as she doesn’t give herself a black eye.
