Checkmark is a better reminder app

Dan Seitz Contributing Writer, Tech

We’ve all done it. We go out, we run errands, we come home, and then we realize; crap, we should have taken care of something else on the way. Checkmark is an app designed to prevent that.

Checkmark

Checkmark is actually brilliantly simple. You mark various locations using your iPhone’s GPS capability. Don’t worry, it does this in-app. Once you have that location, simply set a reminder by tapping through a few screens.

Now you have a reminder set not just by time but by geolocation. Whenever you’re near that location, your phone will prompt you with a reminder.

It does take a little getting used to when your phone pings you with a reminder based on your location, but especially if you run errands in the same general location, it’s amazing how efficient this app actually is. I tend to forget at least one thing off my list, and the location prompts are useful since as you pass by, your phone reminds you and you take care of it.

In short, it’s an app that makes you more efficient, and who couldn’t use that?

Checkmark costs a dollar at the App Store.
